We are calling on all creative students to compete in the 1st Annual Ornithopter Competition. The competition is to design and build a rubber band powered ornithopter, similar to those found here: https://ornithopter.org/plans.shtml. Competitors will compete based on grade level: Group 1 (4th-8th), Group 2 (9th-12th), and Group 3 (undergraduate college). Students can sign up individually or as a team, limited to a maximum size of four students.
- You need to design, build, and fly a rubber band powered flapping-wing aircraft.
- Students from 4th grade to Undergraduate College level. Students will compete based on grade level (4th – 8th, 9th – 12th, and College) can participate!
- It’s a fun, STEAM oriented challenge to design, build, and compete against your friends and fellow students.

- In the body of the email, include the student’s full name, grade level, school where student is enrolled, and whether you intend to compete in the speed, endurance, or both categories (Refer to the Rules and Regulations Document available below to learn about these categories.)
- If registering as a team, include the Name, Grade, and School for all team members (maximum of four per team)
