A Westchester, Illinois-based salvage vehicle auction company has expanded in Birmingham.
IAA Inc. (NYSE:IAA), a global digital marketplace connecting vehicle buyers and sellers, has expanded branch capacity in four markets, including Bessemer at 1600 Highway 150.
IAA said the recent expansion provides increased inventory storage, adding to the branch’s capacity by nearly 50%.
IAA has been in the Alabama market for over 22 years with other branches in Dothan and Huntsville. IAA has targeted Birmingham as a growing market, headed up by Scott Guenther, senior vice president of U.S. branch operations. The company also expanded in the Miami, Long Island, New York, and Missoula, Montana, markets.
"These expansions provide much-needed capacity to support the growing needs of both our buyers and sellers,” said Tim O’Day, president of U.S. operations. “Our continued strategic investment in real estate supports our ability to anticipate and exceed customers’ needs while further expanding service in our key markets.”
IAA, which has nearly 4,000 employees and more than 200 facilities throughout the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom, processes roughly 2.5 million total-loss, damaged and low-value vehicles annually. IAA serves a global buyer base throughout over 135 countries and a full spectrum of sellers, including insurers, dealerships, fleet lease and rental car companies and charitable organizations.
