Miles for Mommies Memorial / Awareness Walk

rocketcitymom.com

Miles for Mommies Memorial / Awareness Walk is a walk or run in memoriam of Lacie (Cole) Ring who was a mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, teacher, coach, co-worker, and heart sister and who passed away unexpectedly after battling a condition called Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM), a type of heart failure that is brought on by pregnancy.

Lacie’s mission was to raise awareness for PPCM so that no mamas that are experiencing symptoms are pushed aside and that their heart failure is recognized before it is too late and to make sure all expecting mamas, their families, the public, and medical communities were educated and aware of their symptoms and felt empowered to advocate for themselves and their families. She became the Alabama Representative for The Save the Mommies organization after she was diagnosed.

She was a brave fighter and was fighting for the lives of every expecting mama and baby, including her own. Her loved ones will always remember her as a selfless, compassionate, bold, funny and a brave woman. She loved life and she was a bright light who brought joy and laughter to everyone she met.

Her memory will live on forever.
