Karen Thorn, fibre artist and Huntsville resident, officially opened Fibre Studio and Gallery, 494 Muskoka Rd. 3 N., Huntsville, on July 12.

The shop, home to Thorn’s fashion label Frockful of Funk as well as SheepStrings Yarn Art Studio, is a creative space for fibre artisans to display and retail their fibre-based textile art and wearables.

The one-of-a-kind Frockful of Funk coats are a signature item.

“That started when I finished art school and decided I wanted to create wearables that were unique and standout,” said Thorn.

Other featured items included clothes and scarves, accessories and home decor created by fellow fibre artisans.

Fibre Studio and Gallery is open Sunday to Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by appointment or chance.
