North Alabama Railroad Museum, located just east of Huntsville, is a place you have to go if you love trains and want to learn more about railroad history. Not only will you learn about trains, you can even ride a train! How awesome is that? Even if you’re not the biggest fan of trains, we’re sure you will enjoy this visit.
The museum’s volunteer staff is present each Wednesday and Saturday morning when they can assist you. If you want to take a free self-guided tour please click here.
You can ride the vintage train – the ride is nice and slow so you can fully enjoy the scenery. Make sure to check out the Train Ride Schedule to visit on a day when the train is running.
The freight room is open on days the rains are running and visitors may view artifacts depicting railroad history in and of the North Alabama and South Central Tennessee area.
